RADON Is a Cancer‑Causing, Radioactive Gas
“You cannot see, smell, or taste radon but it still may be a problem in your home.” When you breathe air containing radon, you increase your risk of getting lung cancer. In fact, the Surgeon
General of the United States has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. If you
smoke and your home has high radon levels, your risk of lung cancer is especially high.

Do you know the level of radon in your home or office?
Test to verify that your home is safe.
To protect your family, testing is the only way.
Commonly Asked Questions:
SHOULD I TEST FOR RADON?
Testing is the only way to find out your home’s radon levels. EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing all homes below the third floor for radon.
Can You Fix a Radon Problem
If you find that you have high radon levels, there are ways to fix a radon problem. Even very high levels can be reduced to acceptable levels.
If I am Selling my Home, should I test?
EPA recommends that you test your home before putting it on the market and, if
necessary, lower your radon levels. Save the test results and all information you have
about steps that were taken to fix any problems. This could be a positive selling point.
How can I protect against radon?
A range of practical and cost effective well proven solutions are used by Affordable Radon, LLC to help reduce radon levels in existing buildings and to prevent radon ingress into new and existing buildings.
What Should I Do if the Radon Level is High?
EPA recommends that you take action to reduce your home’s indoor radon
levels if your radon test result is 4 pCi/L or higher. It is better to correct a radon
problem before placing your home on the market because then you have more
time to address a radon problem.
Is there more than one method of reducing Radon?
A variety of methods can be used to reduce radon in homes. Sealing cracks and other openings in the foundation is a basic part of most approaches to radon reduction. EPA does not recommend the use of sealing alone to limit radon entry. Sealing alone has not been shown to lower radon levels significantly or
consistently.
In most cases, a system with a vent pipe(s) and fan(s) is used to reduce radon.
These “sub-slab depressurization” systems do not require major changes to your
home. Similar systems can also be installed in homes with crawl spaces. These
systems prevent radon gas from entering the home from below the concrete floor
and from outside the foundation.
"Are there any warranties or guarantees with your systems?"
Five year warranty on radon fans and lifetime warranty on workmanship.
Customer Experience
“Highly recommend”
The installers were very skilled professionals who answered all questions. Showed up on time and and cleaned up nicely. And it worked. Test came in at 1.1
“Called a few Places”
I called a few places for quotes but **** was the only one that actually took the time to come and look at the property. We have been in our home for 25 years and had only checked the radon levels when we first built our home. During the pandemic I had some down time to address those things that you put in the back burner. When my levels came back elevated, I knew I wanted to take action. It was also around the time some of my neighbors were also getting high readings and one of our neighbors who never smoked was diagnosed with lung cancer. Well that was all I needed to make up my mind. The crew at this company were easy to work with, explained everything in detail, and had a solution for my unique sump pump situation. Now I can sleep better at night. One less thing to worry about!!!Thanks to Affordable Radon.
“Very Pleasant and Effortless"
From the 1st call to the office and setting up the appointment was very pleasant and effortless. The install was uneventful and crew was very professional and tidy after the work was completed. I will recommend Affordable Radon Systems, LLC in a heartbeat and their pricing was competitive and affordable.
What is Radon?
Radon is a radioactive gas that is colorless, odorless and tasteless. It is formed by the breakdown of uranium, a natural radioactive material found in soil, rock and groundwater. Radon escapes from the ground into the outdoor air. It is diluted to low concentrations and is not a concern. However, radon that enters an enclosed space, such as a home, can sometimes accumulate to high levels. Radon breaks down to form additional radioactive particles called “progeny” that can contaminate the air you breathe.
